Welcome/Bienvenue to Core-French!

Bonjour, and welcome to a new school year!  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s French teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.  My name is Mme. Carey, and I will be teaching grade four and five core-French.

 I am looking forward to a rewarding year and would like to provide a few reminders and suggestions to ensure success.

1. Student’s duotangs and/or notebooks must be kept “neat and complete”.
2. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to purchase and bring to class their own French/English dictionary.
3. Tests will be announced well in advance to allow for preparation.  If a student is having trouble or does not understand, I am more than happy to provide one on one support prior to the test. 
4. There is not a lot of homework in French during the year, so the students are asked to take 5-10 minutes every few days to review any new vocabulary or grammar presented in class.
5. All test and assignments graded below 65% will be sent home to be signed. 

I appreciate your support of your child's learning of French as a Second Language.  I find the student's agenda to a very effective method of communication.  Please check your child's agenda often and feel free contact me through the agenda at any time with any questions or concerns.
